Help Prevent Future Foot Ulcers and Amputations

1. High-quality Material, Durable and Safe

It is made of high-quality material, ABS, nylon, silk, and TPE. Not only effective for diabetes foot test but also safe for diabetic patients and durable. Don't worry about side effects while using it.

2. Portable and Professional Diabetic Foot Test Tool

Diabetic foot test monofilament is made by endocrinologists to be uniquely shaped and a real conversation starter with patients. The 10-gram nylon wire we choose is an objective and simple tool for screening diabetics. When the nylon wire bends, the force is 10 grams. So it is used for diabetic foot touch and pressure checks, testing the feet of diabetic patients for loss of protective sensation associated with peripheral neuropathy. If a patient cannot feel 10 grams, they should be considered at risk for developing pressure or neuropathic ulcers and should be referred to a specialist for further assessment.

3. Easy to Screen Diabetic Foot

The instruction user manual is included. See how to use a 10-gram monofilament to screen diabetic foot below.

  • Bend the monofilament a couple of times before using it, to remove any residual stiffness.
  • Explain to the patient the test and requirements.
  • Apply the monofilament to a sensitive area of the skin. Usually, we recommend testing the inside of the forearm.
  • Ask the patient to close their eyes and say "yes" every time they feel the touch on their feet, no matter how lightly they perceive the touch.
  • Place the monofilament perpendicular to the skin surface, and slowly push the monofilament until it bends. Do not jab the skin with the monofilament.
  • Hold the monofilament in this position for 1-2 seconds, and then slowly release the pressure, until the monofilament is straight.
  • Repeat this for all testing sites on both feet and record your findings.
  • During the test when the patient does not respond at a site, repeat the test a few more times and still no response, then records it as negative.
